Search that finds what you meant
The exercise search in the Session Tracker is rebuilt. Type any part of a name, in any order: “db press” finds Dumbbell Bench Press, and “rdl” finds the Romanian deadlift. Common short forms like db, bb, kb, ez and ohp work too.
Before you type, the search shows three lists:
- Coach’s picks: the exercises your coach has starred for the team.
- Recent: what you’ve done lately, with what you did last time (“Last: Tuesday · 60×8 · 60×8”), so you know where to start.
- Browse the library: the full library, with filters for equipment and muscle group.
One tap adds an exercise and a second tap removes it. Tap ⓘ for a preview with the description, your last session and the demo video. When you build your own session, everything you’ve added waits in a tray at the bottom of the screen until you tap Start Session.
Weak signal? The lists you saw last time still show while you’re offline. Searching needs a connection.
Remove an exercise you added by mistake
Tapped the wrong exercise mid-session? Tap the trash icon on it to remove it, as long as you haven’t logged a set for it yet. It stays removed when you reload or open the session on another device. You can only remove exercises you added yourself, never the ones your coach prescribed.
A short description, then the full instructions
Every exercise in the library now has a one- or two-line description that says what the movement is. The full instructions follow as numbered steps, under Full instructions in the Session Tracker and under Instructions in the exercise library.
Coaches can add a description to their own exercises: the exercise form now has a Description field (up to 280 characters) above Instructions (one step per line). Descriptions you’ve already written are never overwritten.
Let Team Premium write the description
On a Team Premium team, the exercise form has a Write button beside the Description, or Rewrite when there’s already text. Smagpie drafts a short description from the exercise’s title, instructions, equipment and muscles. The draft only fills the field: edit it, then Save, or Cancel to throw it away. On a free team, the form shows what Team Premium adds instead.
Fixes & polish
- The Coach Hub fits phones better: each athlete is two lines, and long names end in ”…” instead of wrapping.
- The app version and the Update Available button now show at the bottom of the Coach Hub.
- Smagpie now runs on a faster global network. You stay signed in, and installed apps keep working.
- Phone notifications now check in with Smagpie properly, so they keep reaching the devices you actually use.
