Turn AI off for your team, and a smoother Session Tracker

For All Coaches

Team AI, your call

Smagpie ships with AI tools — workout generation among them — and we built them because they genuinely save coaches time. But not every program wants them, and that should be a real, respected choice, not a setting buried three menus deep or a feature you just have to live with.

Head coaches can now turn off every AI feature for their whole team from a new AI Features section in Team Settings. Flip it off, and AI entry points don’t grey out or lock — they disappear. Your assistant coaches and athletes won’t see so much as a hint that AI exists on your team.

It’s a team-wide decision, made once, by the person responsible for the program. We built this because trust with coaches, athletes, and parents matters more to us than any single feature — read more on our Trust page about how we think about AI.

Session Tracker gets smoother

A handful of changes make the in-workout experience feel more natural:

  • Smarter set targets. Add an exercise mid-session — whether you’re building the workout as you go or adding to something assigned — and Smagpie now suggests how many sets to aim for, based on the last time that athlete did it. It shows up in the set dots and shapes the rest timer, so the flow doesn’t feel like it’s guessing. The button that used to just say “DONE” now says SAVE SET, since that’s what it’s always actually done.
  • Clearer finish screen. The button that used to say “Cancel” now says Keep going — because that’s what tapping it does. We also folded the separate Pause dialog into the finish screen itself, so your phone’s back button takes you straight there instead of a detour.
  • Real buttons where it counts. “Skip rest” is now a proper tappable button instead of a text label — no more accidentally selecting the text and popping up your phone’s copy menu on a long press.
  • Dismiss it when you’re ready. The “exercise added” confirmation now has a close button, so you’re not stuck waiting out the timer if you’re ready to move on.

Small stuff, but it’s the stuff you touch every single session.

How this helps your coaching

  • For head coaches:

A new AI Features section in Team Settings turns every AI tool off for your whole team with one switch. When it's off, AI entry points disappear entirely instead of sitting there greyed out.

  • For every coach and athlete:

Session Tracker: mid-session exercise adds now suggest a set target, the finish screen reads clearer, and small tap targets got easier to hit.
