👥 Athletes and invites

To invite athletes, open Athletes in the menu, click Invite Athlete, tick the consent box and click Generate Invite. Smagpie shows a short code and a link; share either one with your athletes yourself, by text, team chat or email.

1. In the menu, open Athletes.
2. Click Invite Athlete. On a phone, tap the Invite button at the bottom right first.
3. Tick the box that certifies you have obtained consent for the athletes using this code, where the law requires it.
4. Click Generate Invite.
5. Use Copy Code or Copy Link and send it to your athletes.

A few things to know:

• Smagpie doesn’t email anyone. You share the code or link; nothing is sent on your behalf.
• One code works for many athletes. Post it once in your team chat and everyone can use it.
• Adult teams skip the consent box. If your team is set up for adult athletes, the code is generated straight away.
• Athletes join the team, not a group. Once they’ve joined, put them in groups from Team Groups.

To add an assistant coach, open Athletes and click Invite Coach. Smagpie gives you a code and a link straight away; send either one to your assistant, who signs up with it and joins your team as a coach.

Invites are the only way onto a team: you can’t create another coach’s account for them. Every coach account is free, so add as many coaches as you need.

Every coach on a team can see the team’s athletes and their training data, so only invite people you’d trust with it. See Who can see my training data?
