Who can see my training data? #

  • Athlete
  • Parent

You and your team’s coaches can see your training data. Only you and your coaches see your training logs and the comments on them; your teammates can see the team’s workouts and any event goals you choose to share with them.

  • Your coaches. Every coach on your team can see your workouts, completed activities, benchmarks and health metrics. Coaches on other teams can’t.
  • Your teammates. They see the team’s workouts on the schedule. They see an event goal only if you switch on Share with teammates for that goal; coaches always see your goals.
  • Training logs and comments. Only you and your team’s coaches.
  • Troubleshooting. A coach can view the app as you to help fix a problem, but only after passing a two-factor security check.
  • Smagpie support. The Smagpie support team can view an account to help with a problem, and only after passing an extra security check.

In the app, people can only read data from their own account or their own team. Your data is stored in the United States. For the details, including how to ask for a copy of your data or have it deleted, see the Privacy Policy or email [email protected].

I'm a parent. Is Smagpie safe for my child? #

  • Parent

Smagpie is a training app that your child’s coach uses to plan workouts, and your child uses to see them and record how they went. Children under 13 can’t sign up, only the team’s coaches see your child’s training data, and that data is stored in the United States.

  • Age. Signup asks for birth month and year and refuses anyone under 13. Smagpie doesn’t store the birth month or year.
  • Consent. When a coach creates an invite code for athletes, they certify that they have obtained consent for the athletes using it, where the law requires it. Smagpie doesn’t run a separate parental-consent step in the app.
  • Who sees what. See Who can see my training data?
  • What’s stored. Account details, the workouts the coach assigns, activities synced from a connected Garmin, Coros or Intervals.icu account, benchmarks (threshold pace, threshold heart rate, FTP, resting and max heart rate), and any health metrics your child or their coach records.
  • Cost. Your child can use Smagpie without paying. Some features need an Athlete Pass, which the coach may provide.
  • Discord is optional. Smagpie has a community Discord server, but your child never needs it to use the app.

The Trust Center’s section for parents and the Privacy Policy have the full detail. Questions about your child’s data go to [email protected]; anything else to [email protected].

What should I tell my school district about Smagpie? #

  • Coach

Point your district to the Smagpie Trust Center: it covers security, privacy, where data is stored and the paperwork districts usually ask for. Data privacy agreements, contracts and security questionnaires go to [email protected].

Things your administrators usually want to know, in short:

  • Who runs it. Smagpie is a training platform run by Smagpie Coaching, not by your school.
  • Age. Children under 13 can’t sign up.
  • Consent. You certify that you have obtained consent for your athletes, where the law requires it, each time you generate an athlete invite code.
  • Where the data lives. Stored in the United States.
  • Who sees it. An athlete’s training data is seen by the athlete and the team’s coaches; teammates see team workouts and any goals an athlete chooses to share. Smagpie support can view an account to help with a problem, only after an extra security check. See Who can see my training data?
  • Parents. Send them to Is Smagpie safe for my child?
