Gear for the athletes who don’t have it.

Keep a few team watches and a bike trainer on the shelf. Lend them for a day or a season. The workouts follow the athlete, and every run and ride lands in the right log.

The athletes who need structure most often have the least gear.

The freshman without a GPS watch. The varsity runner whose watch died the week of conference. The injured runner cross-training on the field house bike. Until now they got a whiteboard and a guess. With Loaner Gear they get the same structured workout as everyone else, in their own numbers.

Watches and trainers, one shelf

⌚

Garmin watch

Structured runs on the wrist with the athlete’s own paces and zones. Every run comes back on its own.

⌚

Coros watch

Same workflow as Garmin. Lend it, and the athlete’s workouts are on it before practice.

🚴

Bike trainer

Zwift or Rouvy, through a team Intervals.icu account. Each athlete rides the session in their own watts.

Four steps, then it runs itself

1

Put it on the shelf

Add each watch or trainer once, on an account that belongs to the team. Name it so athletes know which one they have.

2

Lend it

Pick the athlete and how long: until tonight, until a date, or until it comes back. See what will happen before you confirm.

3

Workouts follow the athlete

Their assigned workouts go to the gear in their own numbers. Hand it on, and the next athlete’s go on instead.

4

Activities land in the right log

Everything recorded goes to whoever had the gear when it started, even if it uploads after the handoff.

Cross-training

One trainer in the field house. Every athlete’s own watts.

Assign the bike session the way you write any workout: an intensity for a time. When the athlete climbs on, it’s waiting in Zwift or Rouvy with targets in their own watts, and in ERG mode the trainer holds the power for them.

Nothing to change on the trainer between athletes. And for runners who have never done a bike FTP test, you enter an estimate when you lend it, so the first ride is already at a safe effort.

Every run and ride in the right log

Shared gear is only useful if the data ends up with the athlete who did the work.

Credited by start time

A ride that uploads tomorrow still goes to the athlete who had the trainer today. Handoffs don’t scramble anyone’s training load.

Unclaimed rides, never lost

Recorded while nothing was lent? An amber banner in Loaner Gear lists them. Give each one to the right athlete in a click, or discard it.

Move a ride to the right athlete

Wrong person on the bike? Move the activity from its workout detail. It’s scored again against the right athlete’s numbers, and both athletes’ fitness updates.

Who has what, right on the Coach Hub

A one-line strip on the Coach Hub shows every piece of gear: what’s on the shelf, who has what and when it comes back. Lend or take it back in a click, and see how many rides are waiting to be claimed.

Workouts are sent to gear for athletes with an Athlete Pass. Step-by-step setup is in the Loaner Gear help.

Put the spare watch to work.

Always free for coaches. Add your team’s gear once, and no athlete gets left with a whiteboard and a guess.
