How do I build a training plan and put it on my team's schedule? #
- Coach
To build a plan, open Training Plans, click New Training Plan and fill its week-by-day grid with workouts from your library. To put it on the schedule, publish the plan, click Apply in the plan list, choose your team or a group and an anchor date, then confirm. Training Plans are free for coaches.
Build the plan
- In the menu, open Training Plans and click New Training Plan.
- Fill in the plan details: Title, Code, Sport, Weeks and Description. Add phases if you organize the season into blocks such as base, build, peak and taper.
- Click a day in the week-by-day grid to add a workout from your library. A day can hold more than one workout.
- Workouts you place on the grid save as you go; click Save for the plan details and phases. A plan is a Draft until you turn the switch on to Publish it. Drafts stay in your list but can’t be applied.
Apply it to your team
- In the Training Plans list, click Apply on a published plan.
- Apply To: choose Whole Team or one of your groups.
- Anchor: pick how the plan lines up with the calendar:
- Race Date: pick the race date and Smagpie counts the plan back from it.
- Start Date: week 1 starts on the date you choose.
- End Date: the plan’s last day lands on the date you choose.
- Click Next: Preview and check the week-by-day preview.
- Click Confirm & Apply to put the workouts on the schedule.
Plan workouts are added alongside anything already on those days; nothing is replaced. Your active plans appear under Active Training Plans on Coach Hub, where you can open one to manage it.
Athletes see the workouts on their Training Schedule, and can Mark Complete when they’ve done one.
Can I apply a plan to just one athlete? #
- Coach
No. A training plan applies to your whole team or to one group, not to a single athlete. To give one athlete a different session, open Training Schedule, add the workout and choose Athletes under Assign to.
The assign form lets you send any single workout to the Whole Team, to Groups, or to specific Athletes. That’s the way to adjust one athlete’s week without changing the plan for everyone else.
