How do I connect my Garmin watch? #

  • Athlete

To connect a Garmin watch, open Integrations in the Smagpie menu and click Connect on the Garmin card. Garmin Connect opens and asks you to approve Smagpie; once you do, your completed activities come into Smagpie automatically.

  1. Sign in at app.smagpie.com.
  2. Open Integrations in the menu.
  3. On the Garmin card, click Connect.
  4. Sign in to Garmin Connect and approve Smagpie.
  5. Back in Smagpie, the Garmin card says Connected.

With an Athlete Pass, the workouts your coach assigns are also sent to your Garmin calendar, up to 9 days ahead, ready to follow on your wrist. Without a pass, your activities still come in, but workouts aren’t sent to the watch. The banner at the top of Integrations tells you which applies to you.

Activities travel from your watch to the Garmin Connect app on your phone, then to Smagpie. If something is missing, sync your watch with the Garmin Connect app first.

How do I connect my Coros watch? #

  • Athlete

To connect a Coros watch, open Integrations in the Smagpie menu and click Connect on the Coros card. Coros asks you to sign in and approve Smagpie; once you do, your completed activities come into Smagpie automatically.

  1. Sign in at app.smagpie.com.
  2. Open Integrations in the menu.
  3. On the Coros card, click Connect.
  4. Sign in with your Coros account and approve the connection.
  5. Back in Smagpie, the Coros card says Connected.

With an Athlete Pass, the workouts your coach assigns are also sent to your Coros watch, up to 7 days ahead. Without a pass, your activities still come in, but workouts aren’t sent to the watch.

Can I connect Strava or Intervals.icu? #

  • Athlete

You can connect Intervals.icu: open Integrations and click Connect on the Intervals.icu card. Strava isn’t open to athletes, so connect your Garmin or Coros account directly instead.

Once Intervals.icu is connected, activities you upload there come into Smagpie. With an Athlete Pass, the workouts your coach assigns also go to your Intervals.icu calendar, up to 9 days ahead.

If you record on a Garmin or Coros watch, connect that account directly as well. It’s the shortest path for your activities, and it’s how workouts reach the watch itself.

Why isn't my workout on my watch? #

  • Athlete

Workouts are only sent to your watch if you have an Athlete Pass, and only a few days ahead: up to 9 days for Garmin and 7 days for Coros. If the workout is inside that window, sync your watch with its phone app so it picks up the new workout.

Work through this list:

  1. Do you have an Athlete Pass? The banner at the top of Integrations says whether workouts are being sent to your device. If not, see What is an Athlete Pass?
  2. Is the workout close enough? Workouts further out than 9 days (Garmin) or 7 days (Coros) arrive later, as the date gets closer.
  3. Has your watch synced? Open Garmin Connect or the Coros app on your phone and sync the watch.
  4. Was it just assigned? If your coach just added the workout, or you just connected your watch, give it a few minutes.

Using a team watch? If your coach lent you a watch, Integrations shows “You have [watch] until [date]”. You don’t connect anything yourself; your coach manages that watch’s connection. See Loaner gear.

Why didn't my run show up in Smagpie? #

  • Athlete

Your watch has to sync with its phone app (Garmin Connect or the Coros app) before the activity can flow to Smagpie. If it’s synced and still missing, check that Integrations says Connected, then use Backfill to pull in recent activities.

  1. Sync the watch with Garmin Connect or the Coros app, and give it a few minutes.
  2. Check the connection. Open Integrations. If your watch’s card asks you to Connect again, the connection has dropped; reconnect it.
  3. Backfill. On a connected Garmin or Coros card, open Backfill and choose 7 Days or 14 Days to pull in activities from that period.
  4. Still missing? Open a ticket. See How do I report a bug or ask for a feature?

Why does Intervals.icu show one power number instead of my coach's range? #

  • Athlete

When your coach writes a steady bike interval as a power range, say 200-250 W, Smagpie sends Intervals.icu the middle of it, 225 W. That’s on purpose: a smart trainer in ERG mode holds one number, so the midpoint is what you would ride anyway.

  • Zwift rides the midpoint either way, so nothing changes there.
  • Rouvy turns any power range into a ramp from the low number to the high one, which isn’t what your coach meant. Sending the midpoint avoids that.

When to turn it on. If you ride outdoors with a bike computer, or on a trainer in resistance (non-ERG) mode, you can see and ride the whole band. Open Integrations and, on the connected Intervals.icu card, tick Send bike power targets as a range. Your upcoming rides are sent again with the range. Leave it off if you ride in ERG mode.

Only steady power steps change. Warm-ups and cool-downs are still sent as ramps, and pace and heart-rate targets aren’t affected.

Riding a team trainer? A loaner trainer from your coach always gets the midpoint, whatever your setting, because a trainer runs in ERG mode. See Loaner gear.
